Text Box: The Brotherhood of Saint Andrew

The Brotherhood of Saint Andrew is an association of men who are committed to a threefold discipline.

"The sole object of said corporation shall be the spread of Christ's Kingdom among men.", so reads the Act of Incorporation passed by the U.S. Congress and signed by President Theodore Roosevelt in 1908. This has been the "object" of The Brotherhood of St. Andrew since our founding in 1883.
Our "sole object" soon established the Brotherhood as the Evangelism arm of the Episcopal Church with a history of having begun hundreds of mission churches, many of which matured into parishes. It was our sole object that lead to Brotherhood missionaries establishing the Episcopal Church in the Philippines and Africa.

The Holy Comforter Chapter of the Brotherhood of Saint Andrew was established in 1892 and reactivated in 2000. We meet every other Wednesday at 7:00 AM for breakfast, prayer, and Bible Study. The 2001 Schedule is as follows: November 14 and 28, December 12. Beginning with 2002 our meeting schedule will be January 9, 23, February 6, 20. Our object is to encourage men to grow in their relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ. We believe, salvation can be found only by a public acceptance of Jesus as the Son of God, risen from the dead and Lord in our lives; The authority of the Holy Scriptures; The power of the Holy Spirit; and the fellowship of believers.

Our Disciplines are, PRAYER, STUDY and SERVICE

All men who seek a deeper relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ are invited to share in the Brotherhood.

Almighty God, who gave such grace to your apostle Andrew that he readily obeyed the call of your Son Jesus Christ, and brought his brother with him; Give us, who are called by your Holy Word, grace to follow him without delay, and to bring those near to us into his gracious presence; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.
Amen.
